  • Is there any possibility that my name or my e-mail address will be shared with other companies for marketing purposes?

No, our users' privacy is a top priority at S-Mail®.

  • I get junk email from S-Mail users I don't want to receive. What should I do?

If you have really received any unsolicited email from s-mail.com addresses, please report it to our Support Team. Don't forget to attach the original message with all its headers.

Using S-Mail for sending spam is strictly prohibited. S-Mail accounts used to send spam are immediately suspended.

  • I can't send a large amount of emails. What could be wrong?

We have some limits for outgoing email in our service. This was done to prevent mass, unsolicited emails.

The following limits apply to our free Trial accounts: you can send messages to no more than 20 addresses per 1 hour, to 50 addresses - per 8 hours, to 100 addresses - per 24 hours.

The limits imposed on the Standard plan: you can send messages to no more than 50 addresses per 1 hour, to 100 addresses - per 8 hours, to 200 addresses - per 24 hours.

The limits applied to our Premium plan: you can send messages to no more than 150 addresses per 1 hour, to 300 addresses - per 8 hours, to 500 addresses - per 24 hours.

Please note that all the addresses entered in the "To", "Cc" and "Bcc" fields are taken into account.

You should also bear in mind that you cannot send an email to more than 50 addresses at a time. In other words, if your subscription plan allows, you can enter up to 50 addresses and then you should press "Send". After that you can enter another 50 addresses and press "Send", etc.

  • How does S-Mail protect from spam?

To block unwanted letters, our service offers several options. All are activated on the Options page in the upper menu of your web mail interface.

    1. Black List. Put email addresses in this list from which you do not want to receive letters. To add a new address, please press "Add to" in the upper menu. Make sure you do not enable both White and Black Lists at the same time.

    2. White List. You can add an email(s) here, and after that you will receive messages ONLY from white-listed addresses. To add a new address, please press "Add to" in the upper menu. Make sure you do not enable both White and Black Lists at the same time.

    3. Relay Blocking List technology (RBL). By activating this option, you will not receive the majority of unwanted letters. However, several email services, for example Yahoo.com, do not try to block spam within their service. Therefore, with the anti-spam system, some letters sent from these services can not be received by our users. More on RBL-technology can be found here.

    4. Spam Assassin technology. This is the best option and we would definitely recommend that you activate it. To activate Spam Assassin, please choose "Premium Account Options" and follow the instructions.

Setting up a more ideal system to block unwanted letters in our service is complicated, due to the fact that all letters are encrypted (it is impossible to apply anti-spam filters to message contents). However, our specialists are working on this problem.

  • I have opened an attachment from an unknown user and now my PC is down. Why?

There are millions of malicious files sent as spam. We strongly recommend that you do not open attached files from unknown senders.
